B.Ed. Course

The secondary teacher education program, commonly known as B.Ed., is meant for preparing teachers for secondary/senior secondary schools.

Duration and Intake

•   The B.Ed. program is a regular course of Two years duration.
•   Unit of 100 students approved by NCTE.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

Candidates with at least 50% (47.5% in case of SC/ST/Blind/Visually/Hearing Impaired and Differently Abled Candidates of Haryana only) marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities or any other qualification Equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.

OR

Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks (52.25% in case of SC/ST/Blind/Visually/Hearing Impaired and Differently Abled Candidates of Haryana only) or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.

Curriculum Transaction

•   Every teacher trainee is required to undergo internship-in-teaching (including practice teaching and skill development) for at least sixteen-week in nearby secondary/senior secondary schools.
•   Apart from teaching of foundation courses, there is provision for the methodology of teaching two out of five school subjects at the secondary level (Regional Language/Mother Tongue, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences), or discipline-specific subjects at the senior secondary level (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Commerce, etc.)
•   Teachers are so distributed as to ensure the required nature and level of expertise for teaching methodology courses and foundation courses.
•   For teaching subjects such as physical education, art, work experience, information technology literacy, etc., part-time instructors are available.

Fee Structure

The fee charged to the students for admission to the B.Ed. programme is as follows:-

•   At the time of Admission: - Rs. 11,000/- + University charges.
•   2nd installment from 1st Dec. to 10th Dec.: Rs. 11,000/-
•   3rd installment from 1st Feb. to 10th Feb. : Rs. 11,000/-
•   4th installment from 1st April to 10th April: Rs. 11,000/-
